What did the client need?
At the time, the client did not have a consistent visual identity emphasizing the quality of the company’s products. Also, the client didn’t have packaging designed for their own use, which could be used to pack the broad line of the company’s natural products, with a distinction between its men’s line of beard, hair, and shaving bars.
What did my job involve?
I designed a logo with a symbol featuring an image of a female statue, lavender, and soap bubbles. The packaging of natural cosmetics is inspired by the ingredients they are made from – plants, flowers, oils. As for the visual identity, I was looking for a unique theme that would evoke strong associations with both natural care and natural ingredients. That’s what pushed me to the skin theme – I based the subdued, elegant company color palette precisely on the shades of skin tones. I used a spray painting effect on the packaging boxes to reproduce the variety of skin colors and freckles. To make the men’s product line different, I went for packaging in dark colors chosen from the palette.
